WHAT GAME BOARD DO I NEED?

The Match will be played on a smooth, continuous, white, flat, square surface with an inner playing area of 1.00 m × 1.00 m (39.3701 in × 39.3701 in), delimited by a black line. The centre of the square shall be marked by a red dot 1 cm (0.3937 in) in diameter.

 

You don't need a specific playing field to participate in nanoQUANTA, so you can define your playing field wherever and however you want yourself.

 

In addition to the board, each team will need:

 1 standard empty 33 cl soda can (not a slim can), and

 2 glass marbles 16 mm in diameter.

MISSION

Place an upside-down can in one corner of the board. This represents the habitable module that must be transported to build the space colony.

In the opposite corner, place 2 marbles. The marbles represent the essential resources needed for the colony's survival: water and food.

In the central area, you'll find a red sticker that marks the exact center of the board and the location where the colony must be built. The robots must transport the habitable module (the can) to the sticker.

 

Once the module is in place, the robots must move the two marbles and place them on top of the can representing the colony. The mission will be considered complete when the module is correctly centered and both marbles are on top of it.

AWARDING

The Winner of the Tournament will be the first classified team.

Additionally, those teams that demonstrate outstanding performances regarding the values of the competition will deserve recognition: responsible competition, continuous improvement, positive attitude and sense of community.

REGISTRATION

There are two ways to register for the nanoQUANTA competition:

 

nanoQUANTA XS

It includes participation in the official competition, access to the OpenScientia content platform, and a certificate for the center.

This option does not include access to the Grand Final.

Registration fee: free.

 

nanoQUANTA Arena

It includes participation in the official competition, access to the OpenScientia content platform, a certificate for the center and the right to participate in the RoboticsArena Grand Final, which will be held on June 5, 2027.

 

Registration in the QUANTA Arena modality requires a contribution of €220 per team, intended to cover part of the event's organization costs.

 

For centers that use ROBOTIX C360, this contribution is discounted and reduced to €60 per unit.

June 22, 2026. Publication of the nanoQUANTA challenge.

June 5, 2027. Robotics Arena Grand Final.

 

Some centers and local councils will be organizing intermediate demonstrations before the Grand Final. We will keep you informed.

nanoQUANTA CHALLENGE

Beyond Earth

Exploring space is one of humanity's greatest challenges. To one day live beyond Earth, it will be necessary to transport living spaces, construct the necessary facilities, and obtain basic resources such as water, food, and energy.

Collaboration between different systems will be fundamental to building the first human colonies beyond our planet.

Will you help us build the first base prepared so that people can live in another world?

"You must build a space colony. First, you'll need to transport a living module. Then, you'll need to carry two necessary resources to the top of the module so it can function. All in under three minutes!"

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE?

Each team can consist of between 2 and 4 robots and between 2 and 16 participants.

 

Participants must be between 8 and 10 years old.

 

In addition, each team must have 1 mentor.

 

How do I participate?

In addition to your school, you can organize local tournaments, or nanoQUANTAXmicentro, to test your solutions more often and achieve better scores.

WHAT ROBOT DO I NEED TO PARTICIPATE?

You can do this with commercial educational robots you already have, and manufacture maker parts and accessories , as well as use materials such as cardboard, wood, paper, liquids, etc. to customize and improve the commercial versions of your robots.

Creativity will save you time!

Aside from a lot of imagination, you don't need anything else – neither seasonal kits nor tables – to make it more sustainable.
